Am I Crazy? Isnt there a color-mask "softness" slider? was created by Struggling_Editor

Am I going crazy, or has my "softness" slider for color-masks disappeared? I swear it was there last week, today after updating to OS X 10.15.6, it's gone??
I dont remember if it was called "softness" but it allowed you to feather/blend the color selection of the color mast a bit more

Yes for *color* masks (not shape masks) a horizontal slider should be right below the "mask type" setting, which is *also* missing in your screen cap. Starting with 10.4.7 that type setting switches between HSL and 3D masking. Make sure you are running 10.4.8. Restart MacOS. Show/hide the inspector (CMD+4). Create a test library, import one clip, put it on a timeline and add one color effect. See if it appears then. If that doesn't work try resetting FCPX preferences (item 11 on this list): support.apple.com/en-us/HT203477
