I wondered if there was any tutorials out there to create a transition that goes from black and white to full colour whilst incorporating an effect like a static or a ripple or some form of particles moving as they become full colour ?

Not too sure where to even start with creating this so any help appreciated !

Thanks

Hi 1991
Not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but I would suggest that you keyframe a Color Correction that changes the Saturation of the clip from 0%>100% or whatever you want for the period of time you want color to appear transition.
On top of this you can add any additional effects you want.
You can also apply a Color Mask to a duplicate clip in upper track to apply the changes to only a portion of the image.

If you can add a link to a video with the effect you want to mimic, then we can offer additional ideas.

Hope this Helps, Greg

Sounds like the part of Wizard of Oz that transitions from real-life black and white to Oz technicolor. Very simple, no need for duplicates.

Cut the clip where the transition(s) need to happen. Desaturate the section that needs to be black and white with the Color Board or other color grading tool. There are a lot of transitions out there that would look neat. Do some shopping.
