I'm trying to open old 2012 FCPX events and projects--no luck. Is there an app or procedure that will help? I know there used to be a method--and maybe an app from Intelligent Assistance? No more? Doomed?

Thanks

Thanks, Tom. Unfortunately, still having an issue.

FCPX doesn't ask to update when I open it--these are on an attached drive in the respective Final Cut Events and Projects folders on the root level of the hard drive.

Nor can I seem to be able to navigate to the resepctive events and projects from within X.

Any other thoughts? Thanks as always!

Did you download the trial version that's linked in the document? What OS are you running? You may need to get access to an older version.

Well, I'll try the download of the old version and let you know. Although I'm doubtful as I'm on Catalina running the latest version of X.

FCPX does not have to be in your Applications folder to run, so you can put the older version in another location. FCPX has been 64 bit for a while, older versions should work to an extent in Catalina, I'd assume.

It won’t run on Catalina. Will new provided. Not Mojave. Think HS was the last version. Can’t check at the moment.

Yep. Just tried--that's a no go.

Well, let me know if you have any thoughts or if there's any 3rd apps that might do the conversion. Thank you!!

There is nothing. It needs the application to do the update. You would have to find someone with access to an older version.

What about converting an FCPXML with XtoPro? Or whatever they call it now.

Or just use the native FCPXML? How far back does current FCPX read it's own XML version?
