hello everybody,

if this question is already answered, help me please finding the right thread - i didn't find it with the search function.

my problem is: i want to synchronize a videoclip with external audio recorded seperately. fcp is letting me move the video only in steps of a 10th of a second. can that be??? I need more detail synch because its a music video.

hope you can help me?
best wishes from germany, jörn

If you set the project framerate to 24 fps, you have 24 steps per second, if you set it to 10 fps, you have 10.

When zoomed out in the timeline, the precision with which you can move clips using the mouse is not very good. That means chances are greater that you miss the "point".

So either zoom in sufficiently or use period and comma to move the clip. Or both.

See this info about sub-frame audio editing and see if it applies in your case: blog.frame.io/2018/08/27/deep-dive-fcpx-audio-tools/#editing
