Hi everyone
I have been looking at creating new interactive videos where I want the viewer to choose an option when the video stops and it then jumps to the next part of the video based on their choice.

Camtasia has something called Hotspots which look really easy to use but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with something similiar in FCPx?

Thanks for any assistance.

Nothing like that in FCPX or in most any NLE, save chapters for DVD some online codecs.

I did this like 12 years ago on DVD, authored with DVD Studio Pro. The story plays out for a short bit, freezes, and then the user chooses what happened next. Had 21 different endings. I was also able to put this on Volume 1 of my official Blu-ray released a few years ago. And at one time it was even on Youtube and used annotations that you could click onscreen, which Youtube no longer supports.

Nowadays I don't think you can effectively do this outside of DVD and Blu-ray. It's a cool gimmick but honestly not one I'd like to repeat often.
