So I don't know if this is a group that helps with technical issues, if it's not please point me in the right direction as I'm in desperate need of some help.

So I've been editing a video for a while, rendering time has been notably slower than usual. I've gotten about 3mins into a 5min music video and it's just stopped rendering.

Now whenever I load final cut up, it immediately starts trying to render and immediately I get a never ending loading icon.

I've tried deleting the generated event files, but it just crashes before it can work. Past that I haven't been able to find much help on the subject.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've sunk at least 20hours of editing time into this and would really like to get to finish it.

First, get "Final Cut Library Manager" from ArcticWhitness, very worth the money. Use that to purchase the Library of all render and analysis files.

Then verify you have more that 20 percent of your system drive's capacity left as free space.

Hold both Option and Command key while launching FCPX and delete preference files.

Once back in FCPX, go to Preferences and turn off background rendering, then NEVER turn it back on.

See if any of this helps.
