TOPIC: Best Text tracking software for FCPX?

Best Text tracking software for FCPX? 17 Jan 2019 08:14 #98533

Hello,

does anyone have experience with a good text tracking software/plugin for FCPX - mostly used for real estate videos, aerial fly overs, that would keep the text tracked to a certain building? Budget is up to $100.

example:

Thank you!

haven't tested it myself (free trial!), but looking very promising, and for just 39 bucks, is fxfactorys latest:

I've been using TrackX for a very long time with great success. Very fast and easy to use, even with tricky situations. With the experience, I can vouch for it. Especially if you're going to be doing this on a regular basis. Uses award winning Mocha tracking technology. Very flexible for all sorts of things.

One more to consider - motionVFX has several different text tracking plugins based on Mocha. Nice interface too.

I agree with what has been said above. TrackX is amazing, but it only has limited call outs - so you'll have to create your own if you want something other than what it included. MotionVFX has awesome mocha-tracking callouts and gives you a big variety in each of their callout plugins. There are also many tracking callouts available thru FX Factory, all within your budget.

If you're on a budget, and the ONLY thing you want to use is Call Outs with tracking, I'd highly recommend the templates from Ripple Training.

If you want mainly tracking, and use call outs with tracking on occasion, TrackX / SliceX combo.

I've purchased Tracking Callouts from FX Factory. Good, simple and fast!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm not looking for tracking callouts that are flat. I'm looking for something that will allow orbiting text similar to the example. The text is locked to points and the you can orbit around objects and the text perspective will maintain its location and will scale and change perspective depending on the angle. This type of text effect is becoming quite common in drone shots for example. Also the core melt examples I've seen look very low budget.

I thought that Coremelt's TrackX would do the trick, but I haven't used it in a while. If I were you I'd write them.
