I recently purchased Primaries exporter and I’m having issues. I made a video to show the issue I am having. The exported clips do not match the timeline. Can someone let me know if this is user error or a bug?

I am running FCPX 10.3.4 and MacOS 10.12.6

Partially user error, I suppose. :)

PrimariesExporter works in that way: FCPX exports entire in-out area to one file, and also a XML file. Then PrimariesExporter reads the cut points from that XML file and cuts one big file to several smaller files.

This method doesn't work well with MP4 files. Please use ProRes codec, I'll bet it will solve your problem.

Then you can use for example Automator + ffmpeg/Handbrake combo to convert all ProRes .movs to H.264 .mp4.

I'd contact the developer directly, that seems to be their software, not FCPX.

The Prores approach did work as far as slicing up and naming the media correctly. However, it still is combining all the keywords across the clips. I have contacted the developer, but I figured I'd respond here as well.

I find it an interesting app, though I've not used it yet. Let us know what the developer says. I'm interested in perhaps trying this app out soon.

Turns out it was mostly user error. During the Share process, I did not realize that the Tags in the FCPX dialog get included as metadata with each file. So by clearing those tags a the Share dialog, Primaries Exporter correctly assigned keywords on a clip by clip basis.

Also, I was able to Share as h264 without issue.

I've got a follow up question about Primaries Exporter. I cannot seem to find a way to export keywords when using PrimariesExporter's spreadsheet option. Does anyone know if this is possible? Seems like that would be one of the main things you'd want to export!
