I need to assist someone who is on Windows + Adobe Premier. The project is using MULTICAM and we need to round trip, so that multicam edits can be imported back into Premier, where the multicam cuts need to be adjustable.
Apparently according to my limited research, all round tripping programs fail with multicam .
Is anyone aware of a procedure or tool, that would allow moving a library with multicam edits of a project, back to Premier such that the multicam edits can be changed in Premier?
The recording was done by my friend, who uses Windows and Premier. Total is about 75hrs of 4k with 4 cameras! He asked if I could help, but I only have FCPX (on Mac, of course). However he wants to be able to fine tune the edits.
Not sure if it is possible.
(One option is to install Premier for Mac for the trial period, or use his 2nd seat license). I would prefer to work in FCPX, as I have never used Premier.
I don't know about Premier back to FCPX but I can tell you from experience that multicam FCPX to Premier works just fine with the XtoCC XML converter from Intelligent Assistance Software. They also make a Premier to FCPX XML converter. As long as your timeline is cuts only or with simple transitions that have Premier analogs, everything from video to audio cuts and adjusts transfer just fine. No filters will transfer over. Don't bother with Color Correction either.
Edit multicam in FCPX and get it to PPro, don't think you can. The only option is X2CC, and it collapses multicames. Don't think your workflow between NLEs for multicam is going to work. Get PPro on your Mac and simply use it.
