Saved an excellent video clip recorded in DV PAL 25i, using H.264 25p NTSC encoding. So the clip now is marred by interlacing which I would like to get rid of ( I was using FCP Express and Quicktime 7 Pro at the time).
Now I've tried different reformatting in FCPX and MPEG Streamclip, but nothing I've tried has gotten rid of these horrible interlacing streaks, and I'm now supposing it cannot be repaired.
Would be delighted to find out I'm wrong, however!
Hi Tom, I assure you it was most wickedly interlaced, and at (according to FCPX) 25p. But I've erased that file now and the different test files I made last night and this morning while trying to fix it.
Because to my relief , delving through my FCPX libraries I found that I'd made proper new copies of the original recording last year. So the 'problem' wasted about 12 hours of my time but now I'm happily rendering the footage in Neat and going to enhance it in 1920x1080 50p.
FCPX is great, but it can be a hassle keeping track of all that is in those libraries after some years of editing and rendering.
