FCPX and AJA LHi on Snow Leopard

I am trying to run FCPX on a MacPro on 10.6.8 with an AJA Kona LHi card on the machine. I know that broadcast monitoring is only supported 10.7 and above but we need to be on Snow Leopard because of out SAN requirements.

When I start X it opens fine and imports video fine, but I try to play it it beach balls me and crashes. I have gotten it to work once randomly but even then we dont have audio playing out or the aja card. I do hear it out of the internal speakers. Would the AJA card be causing my crashing?

Be sure you have the latest AJA drivers, they've done several updates.

System specs?
OS and FCP versions?

Your SAN won't upgrade to 10.7? Really? What flavor of SAN are you running?
