Can we please have a "For Sale" forum? was created by El Cuajinais
I think this site is missing a place where we can purchase used Computers / Video Equipment / Software Licenses from each other.
I'm looking to sell my mid 2012 RMBP for example and this was the first place I thought to look. I was surprised there was no dedicated forum for this.

I think it wouldn't be super handy since we are not too many people and spread all over the world.
Yet as an advantage there would be quite some trust.

Yes, it’s about trust and shared interests.
I’ve sold plenty of stuff on ebay and the only time time someone tried to scam me was with an expensive electronic product. I imagine a Retina Macbook Pro is a scammer magnet. What happens if the winning bidder claims he received a faulty item? I know eBay and Paypal are very pro-buyer. Does anyone have experience with this?

I hate eBay. They charge a LOT to sell something. And I've been burned a few times as a seller. I recently sold a perfectly good, working perfectly fine, Euphonix Color control board. It was used up until the moment it was packed up to ship. Shipped in original packaging, and a professional shipping company packaged that up for us (we have an account with them). The buyer got it and complained it was broken. Said it was covered in something very sticky, and the Ethernet port was blown out. Quoted some outrageous price for repairing it, and posted a very negative review of me.
Both PayPal and eBay support asked me to send in documentation about the condition it was in when shipped. I had THREE editors who used it in the few days before it shipped write letters to that fact. I had the shipper write a letter about the extremely clean and good condition it was in when packaged. I had an electronics repair shop locally, that we've used on occasion, quote a fraction of that cost to replace an Ethernet plug.
But, eBay and PayPal deducted 50% of the purchase price against my will, I had no control over it, it was just deducted out of my PayPal account, period.
Thus, this guy basically got my control board for a song, and I lost money in the deal.
I had this type of scam happen with a very high end MIDI keyboard, and two cameras I've sold on eBay, also.
I'll never sell anything expensive on eBay ever again. Even with documentation and proof, if you're a seller, you're going to get screwed.
BTW, I know a few other folks with similar eBay stories as sellers.

Damn Ben, thanks for the anecdote but you were the first to suggest I use eBay on this thread! So that's what I did! I'm now a mere five hours away from the auction closing and having to kiss my Macbook goodbye! I sure wish you would have re-counted your experience on that first post!
Your experience is the exact reason I was hesitant to putting my macbook on eBay, and validates the reason we need a "For Sale" forum here on fcp.co.

A laptop computer shouldn't be much of a problem. I've sold lots of other stuff on eBay and had great experiences. I'm just not selling anything over $9K on it anymore. But eBay is great for stuff like laptops. More reliable and safe than Craigs List. eBay for a laptop is a no brainer, IMHO.
As for a For Sale listing here, you're still not going to be guaranteed any safety. In fact, you'll have LESS assurances here, because there's no one around to provide legal backing. You could sell something, and have that PayPal payment reversed the moment you ship it, and no one here could help you get your money back.
Again, I had a few bad experiences on eBay, but I've had many more good ones. You'll end up screwed on any site if you sell enough stuff. Nothing will stop that. It's called "life"...
You are also able to pull that item off of eBay since it hasn't sold yet.
