embbeded YouTube/html5 vs flv

Using MacOS10.2, Safari 8.02, NO Flash-plugn installed .. .

When posters embed a YouTube Video, it comes up like that:

#1 Safari, no video, 'plug in missing' … yep, right, intentionally …

# 2 Using Chrome vs 41.02andlotsofnumbers, shows the video …

#3 going straight to YT with Safari, YT identifies my set-up "ahh, no Flash, we should offer html5!"

__________

is it optional, to tell a/this website which version of video should be used?
Or is that an YT 'exclusive' ?

I'll take a look. We are going to upgrade the CMS and components soon.

Yes, also keeping my Mac Flash-free and can't see embedded videos... Would be nice if they worked without Flash!
