Hello All,
I've been working with FCPX since 10.0.2 and have since edited numerous professional projects with the software- including 2 full seasons of half hour television episodes for NBC (The Next Bite) and adaptations for subsequent national and international networks the like. I have also used it for quite a few national commercial projects, as well, that have aired on ESPN, NBC, WFN, Fox Sports, etc.
I wanted to share a documentary (my first!) I just finished in FCPX that was shot in both Sweden and the United States on a RedOne MX, Canon C100, GoPro Hero3, Canon 5D MIII and a Canon T2i- with a mix of additional/historical support footage.
I basically edited the entire project down to an hour and a half (over 35 hours of footage, ca. 6000 assets) on a MBP while traveling with a Pegasus R4 via TB. I had to switch to a 6-Core Mac Pro for final editing/color/sound (down to 48 min. TRT), rendering and mastering for web and Blu-Ray authoring, using Encore.
The entire project was a mix of true 24p (the RedOne MX), 23.98p (the Canon C100, etc) and 29.97 b-roll, etc. (Aerials were 50fps) The project was completed from pre-production to delivery in 6 months. It covers the entire history of Abu Garcia, a legendary brand in fishing tackle and the people whose lives it has personally affected.
I hope it finds you well- and helps to continue to demonstrate the capabilities/possibilities of FCPX as far as stability, viability of in-app color correction, Red RAW settings interaction and frame rate/format flexibility. Enjoi.
Cheers,
Dustin

Thanks Matto!
Of course it wasn't all smooth sailing, like with anything : positives and negatives: so questions are always welcome.
Happy Editing,
Dusty
