Just a stupid 30 second experiment

I've been playing with shutter speed a lot recently. Here's a shot of a Leslie organ cabinet that I shot earlier today, shutter speed is somewhere around 1/1600 on my GH2.

I used the FxFactory Pro "Zebra" plugin for parts of it. The music is from the Neumann films stock music collection. The track I used is titled "outception", you'll get it when you hear it.

Fantastic cinematic music, the emphasis on your effects sections work well, but it's not until the final moments when I see the spinning slowed down, that I wish the whole piece were closer to that speed. Remember, you already know what you're looking at, the viewer doesn't, so our interest is mostly engaged by the music with the periodic effect, but even that is not captivating enough for a full 30 seconds. When we finally see what we were looking at it takes on an intrinsic beauty of form & function that was missing all along. High speed makes less sense as it has virtually no discernible details to be recognizable, definable or engaging.
