Pretty dark stuff, both cinematically & thematically. You began with an interesting concept, but I think for it really to work here, we need to take it further. The beginning exterior shot lifts our expectations as it has a real cinematic feel. After that we settle in to basically 2 shots; Jakob in the office, Jakob in the bed. Since both the audio & visuals offer little in the way of variety, the film promptly becomes repetitive. Thus the viewer's mind begins to disengage on some levels, which renders your attempted dramatic moments less compelling. Perhaps if we'd seen our man in another light also, perhaps a cutaway that's almost like a dream sequence. Instead of the dark vignette we slide to slightly overexposed where he's all in white being pushed in a wheelchair that he's strapped to. Thru hallways, with a tilting camera, going thru double doors of the asylum. Maybe even to the outdoors, but our image is misty white like in a cloud. I wouldn't mind some white rubber gloved hands treating him, with a needle or some electro shock device to his head, even thru his white hood. We don't have to show much detail of this, perhaps hinting at it might be more powerful. What this does, is offset the descent into madness which you've portrayed with a balance of culpability. Perhaps it's the institution itself that is driving him insane, is he a prisoner? We then gain empathy for him because as it stands presently we feel little if anything for anyone here...

Good attitude.
We always want an audience to relate to our hero, to empathize & identify with him on some level. Ever watched a movie where you really care about the characters & what happens to them? That's a successful cinematic emotional connection. The purpose of all media is to send out a message, feeling & vision, when the recipient feels & believes it, the media is successful. The loop is complete.
Ever watched a film where you don't really care about any of the characters? You've got no emotional investment, so the story becomes meaningless.
Sometimes half the criteria is met; the acting is believable yet we still don't care about the character. I think that's closer to what we have here. We want to care about our man, give us a reason...

New Video coming soon Part 2 in a Music Video Series It's basically going to promote the artists album so all the videos will come together in a multi part story
1. Should we make the colors similar or it doesn't matter
2. What are some of the best ways to visually tie them together. I'm thinking of having some sort of image or scene in all the videos or something

Now's the time to take a deep look at the overall story. Decisions you make now can embed gems in the chapters compelling your audience to follow along, gather steam & build a following.
These are going to be artistic choices made by you & the artist. Most likely, the considerable screen presence of the lead performer is enough to tie consecutive videos together. We want to continue to engage our audience without boring them or letting them think "Oh I've seen this all before." We also want to imply growth & that the magnitude of the star is increasing, not diminishing. Different shots can convey these concepts even without a large budget. Continuing the exact same colors or themes is not going to signify new chapters as much as slight variations can. If you follow the video portfolio of successful artists, you'll see that rather than stay with an established image they're continually reinventing themselves, yet remaining true to their core values. So the outward trappings may change but the artist still retains the original essence that won them the fans in the first place.
For instance, last time our man was in an asylum, so if you had a shot of him emerging from an old gate, or structure behind him, then he stops to survey his next territory, the camera swivels around from facing him to his back as we pull out to reveal he's on a hill overlooking a city. We've established forward movement, emerging from the past to a new prospect which has a massive scale.
