my latest trailer re-edit has been finished B)

i've started this project in fcp7 and i finished it with fcp-x 10.0.6 to see how the new features would work out for such a project.

warner bros hasn't put this trailer on dvd nor on the blu-ray. but luckily the trailer is on itunes, though the quality is pretty crappy. i used the itunes version as a guide to recreate the trailer as close as possible. i'm very happy with the final result.

Looks very professional, Bendermac. Having not seen the original, I can't say how close it is. Though this genre isn't really my cup of tea, it's interesting to see the dated effects used in the dream sequences. You might find some interesting discussion & a video on dated effects here, regarding the Coppola directed Dracula movie.

One odd side note, at the very end, when you show your credits, there's an slight shake in the overlay...

the original version can be viewed on itunes . click on "view trailer" to see it.

the shake on the credits was in the source. i left it untouched. gives a more film like feeling ;)

as for the "dated" effects... i like these old effects. most of them hold up pretty damn well. my favorite of them all: return of the jedi's dog-fight sequence on the death star. cgi ages way to quick and mostly not very well.
