Conduit Suite Beta for FCPX and Motion 5 06 Jul 2011 01:48 #339

All,
dvGarage have posted an online form so that you can take part in the beta testing of the 64 bit version of Conduit. This will probably bring nodal compositing to FCPX in the near future www.dvgarage.com/conduit-64bit-beta Administrator

I just tried to post a rather long reply to this, but it got deleted 'cause my session timed out
![]() I've been carrying a torch for Conduit for a while, I believe it to be a superb, amazing, too little known product. Integration into FCP X & Motion 5, considering how early days it is, is excellent. I would be very interested in creating a "free templates" and feedback thread for Conduit. Are there enough of us using or testing it yet? I would make an effort to post some plugs as examples, but should be a subcategory of "free plugs ..." I think, since they would all require the 3rd party app. Feedback please! ![]() |

How much have you got to post? I could create a category but will it get used?

(I don't know what's going on, my reply a few hours ago got swallowed by the ether again)
I suggest we (you) start a thread combining Conduit templates, requests therefor, questions and issues. I'd be happy to keep it alive until it's got momentum. I don't have a lot of templates on offer that would be of general usefulness. But I could put up a couple now and more in a week or so, after I've thought about it a bit. I will take requests too for making - or suggesting how - something that someone couldn't figure out how to do with the standard tools. Of immediate use would be a very simple implementation of the S-Curve LUT for Technicolor's CineStyle preset for Canon DSLRs, which as far as I know can't be easily conformed within FCP X any other way. See attachment (if it works). EDIT: unzip the attachment and put the contents into (and create if necessary) ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects/Conduit Effects I have a couple of color grading conduits that may or may not be useful on other footage, but I can upload them for members to look at and fiddle with. I would offer to make a "blank" template that attached a bunch of sliders and color pickers to the widget, which I consider to be the biggest hurdle to "diving right in". I would alert Pauli Ojala, the developer, as well as the folks at pixelcorps to this thread. There's an active Conduit community over there, but since it's paying members only, the rest of us don't get to see it. So a more "public" forum would be helpful, I think. Those were my thoughts, I think, more or less, in the previous unposted post ![]() Cheers, G. |

Like you, I am a very big fan of Conduit and am glad to see that it's coming to FCPX - but sadly I can't imagine the worldwide user-base is very wide at all

I blame the distributor of the package who shall remain unnamed. Most of the activity, what there is, is now on Pixelcorps, the distributor's user forum is pretty much dead.
And to reiterate: it definitely HAS come to FCP X -- I'm running v2.2 now! ![]() |
