macbreak studio keframes fcpx

It might be NAB week, but the MacBreak Studio tutorials keep on coming. In this new episode the boys take a look at keyframes in Final Cut Pro X. (And Steve sticks his tongue out!)

If there is one thing that we see more questions from puzzled editors about, it has to be keyframes. They are a very simple concept, but if you've never used them before in an application, they can be confusing.

In this new episode of MacBreak Studio, Mark Spencer shows Steve Martin how it it easier to select, move, copy and paste keyframes.

The new keyframe features in 10.1 are great, especially the new ones that the guys discover in the tutorial! However we think the audio mixing in FCPX is still weak and it needs a lot more work to bring it back to where FCP7 was. We wish for two things, audio only crossfades and audio automation. Automation is the best way to mix as it records the level of the audio in real time. You can't hear a level if you are not playing the timeline!

As always, great tips from the guys again this week. If you would like to know more, take a look at their tutorial Final Cut Pro 10.1 In-Depth.  It is priced at $29.99 and available from the Ripple Training website.
