Are your transitions in FCPX looking a bit flat? Idustrial Revolution has launched a pack of 24 transitions built in 3D space which means variable focal length, depth of field, lighting and adjustable reflections. We've also got five copies to give away.
How do you make transitions in FCPX look more realistic? The answer is to build them in a 3D environment. Idustrial Revolution has done exactly that with this new pack of transitions called XEffects 3D Transitions. For $49 you get over a hundred different moves and presets built into 24 different plugins.
As all of the transitions were built in Motion, you have control of the expected 3D and camera adjustments. Variable focal length, a shallow depth of field or pin sharp edges, directional lighting and adjustable reflections all add to give a photo realistic result.
Some of the effects are designed to add punch to a production such as Corkscrew, others are more subtle and would add a bit of gloss to videos needing a classier look. There looks to be quite a variety of choice in the pack too, this isn't just a small number of plugins for $49. The 24 plugins have presets for different angles, animations or backgrounds. Time has been spent in constructing these effects into a professional package. Idustrial Revolution reported that the beta testers loved using them.
The pack from Idustrial Revolution uses the FxFactory plugin management engine and although this needs to be downloaded and installed, it's free. There is also a watermarked trial of the plugin for you to try out the 3D effects for free too.
Noise Industries have produced a tutorial video on XEffects 3D Transitions. We particularly like the part where the camera angle is adjusted on the page turn, it shows how the effects have been constructed in 3D.
Now on to the competition and this time it is slightly different. Instead of blasting Twitter hashtags for a week we though that we would take a slightly approach.
