focus feature fcpx

It's no secret now that the first major Hollywood studio feature film cut on FCPX is Focus staring Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Warner Brothers has just published the first trailer for the film and it looks pretty cool.

We are very pleased as FCPX's 'Cold Mountain moment' is actually way cooler than the movie Cold Mountain ever was. Will Smith And Margot Robbie hustling in Focus sounds a lot more interesting than a soldier's long walk home in the snow. The film is not out until February the 7th, but Warner Brothers has started the publicity early.

It is great to actually see some footage from the film after hearing about the production from numerous places including Mike Matzdorff's presentation at the recent LACPUG meeting. Looking at timelines or keywording structures isn't the same as watching the output!

We hope to have more information about the film closer to release date, in the meantime we shall leave you with Warner Brother's initial publicity for Focus.

#FocusMovie - In cinemas February 27. Starring Oscar nominee Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Rodrigo Santoro and Gerald McRaney.

“It’s about distraction. It’s about focus. The brain is slow and it can’t multitask. Tap him here, take from there.”

Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.

“Focus” is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa (“Crazy, Stupid, Love.”). Denise Di Novi (“Crazy, Stupid, Love.”) is the producer, with Charlie Gogolak and Stan Wlodkowski serving as executive producers.

The cast is headed by Oscar nominee Will Smith (“The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Ali,”), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Rodrigo Santoro (the “300” films) and Gerald McRaney (TV’s “House of Cards”).
