In the next of the series of FCPX related presentations from the Faster Together stage at NAB, Roger Bolton from Coremelt demos Scribomatic and a new tracking paint tool.
Coremelt has been making innovative plugins for Final Cut Pro X for years. They demonstrated their new Scribomatic app last year at NAB 2017.
This year, Roger Bolton showed an updated version of Scribomatic. If you work with unscripted material, Scribomatic can transcribe your footage. It also allows you to do some basic editing. Your rough timelines can then be sent to Final Cut Pro X via FCPXML.
As a bit of a surprise, Roger also introduced a new planar tracking plugin for FCPX. The plugin allows you to do basic visual effects painting without leaving Final Cut. You can remove blemishes, add bruises, displace textures, and much more. Once you are finished painting, Mocha's planar tracking ensures the paint stays in place.
Patrick taught FCPX as a Trainer at an Apple Store in Tulsa, Oklahoma when it came out in 2011. He in now an Editor and Assistant Editor in Los Angeles and is Chief Workflow Officer at LumaForge.
