I purchased a new SD Card reader and the problem didn't go away. I do have one bad USB port on the front of my Mac Pro, so maybe the other one is going out too.
Thanks for your help!
I recently signed up for some security software from Frontier Communications. I can't remember if the problem was happening before I installed it... I'll uninstall it and see how that goes.
Thanks for your help!!
My SD Cards are taking way too long to load... (20 to 25 minutes until they show up in my import window) This is annoying and when I'm working with a client it's awkward to say the least.
I have the latest OS and the latest version of FCPX. Is this happening to you??? (oh, dear reader of my post) Is there a fix for this kind of thing?
Thanks so much for your help!!!
Thanks for responding to my question.
I will try that!
I'm out of the country for a few weeks. Let you know how it worked out as soon as I return.
Thank you so much!!! Eddie
Hi Ronny, Thanks for responding!
I did try a couple of times to export the file to DropBox. I also exported it to my hard drive and got the same message each time.
What is App Nap?
I'm exporting a short movie from FCPX and I'm getting a message saying that "the share operation has failed. "Video rendering error".
See attachments below.
The movie looks okay... Why do you think I'm getting this error message?
You are a life saver!!! You've helped me a bunch of times, and I really appreciate it so much.
P.S. I would be interested to know why the "Consolidation" didn't work. Why didn't the files upload? Very strange indeed.
Sorry, by, "Wake Up" I mean how do make that link active?
Thanks for your reply Tom!!
The "reimport from camera" function is greyed out. How can I get it to wake up?
I'm trying to export a movie from FCPX and for some reason I'm getting an error message that says, "missing or offline titles, effects or generators". And it's true that when I don't have my SD card plugged in one of my clips is "red".
I have tried and tried to "consolidate", but it always tells me that "there are no files to consolidate". The movie plays just fine, but it won't let me export it.
I'm also getting an error message that says, "This item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera".
How can I get FCPX to consolidate????
Thanks very much for your help!!
I'm a little confused by your first sentence. ("jets"?) I think there's a typo there... but basically I think I get it.
I'll do some archiving tonight and see if I can get things to go in the right places.
Thanks so much,
Thanks Tom!! This is very useful information.
So, just to be clear...
1. Question: For each project do I go to the "Modify Settings" and choose "FCP-Libraries" or do I choose "Library" (these Media folders already are in the "Library" folder) or "Choose" and find the specific Library for the project that I'm archiving? Sorry, not clear on that.
2. I will toss the "Optimized Media" folders. Can you please tell me why these folders are there? Shouldn't they be in their respective Library folders? How do I avoid this happening in the future?
3. I will toss the Cache folders. I have Final Cut Library Manager... I thought it would get rid of all the extra stuff. Is that still a valid program with all the improvements in FCP?
Thanks again for all your help with this, and other issues that you have so kindly helped me with in the past!!
