maybe I wasn't clear to make my point:
6 secs of 0 IRE are an 'error' in QC in the ol' days.
6 secs of 8 IRE could be intentional and pass QC… by the old standards.-

No, sorry, not aware of…
And a GUI similar to your example is beyond Motions capabilities…

Welcome Lawrence to FCP.co :)

<scratching head> vaguely remembering the old analogue days... broadcast standards didn't allow then 'black' below 7.5IRE (and white above 100IRE). Check with the scopes.-

maybe you should drop FCPX' Broadcast Safe filter over your whole project .....

Welcome John to FCP.co :)

hmm, depends … on the quality of your animation, tried myself this a while ago

youtu.be/f8fVe85kwKE

this done in Motion, with some prep in Pixelmator. Wanted to accomplish a lip-sync animation as a plugIn - just to find out, that Motions Audio-Parameter are not exportable.... :(
www.fcp.co/forum/6-motion-5/25786-you-ca...ublish-an-audio-well

sooo… to 'animate' some lines with some wiggle, you could use Motion.
To create Pixar/Cars-style animation, you need tools like Blender (free!) and some years of experience......

No simple task.

(oh, just vaguely remember: there WAS, years ago, an unstable 3rd party app, called CrazyTalk … afair, a 32bit app = too old, doesn't run on actual MacOs'………)

Hi L.

sorry for replying late… real-life-thingies ;)

Attached a very basic Motion-Title-Generator, you can open in M5, demoing what I mentioned before: a drop-down-Rig, which allows to select the fonts color from a selection of 3.

When you install it in FCPX, you get in the Inspector a drop-down menu with the three colors …

Hope, this explains the basics. – Demo Color Sel[attachment=8756]Demo Color Sel

Welcome Lawrance to fop.co :)

Yes, that is possible, and yes, ‚rigging‘ into a nice drop-down menu is the tool of choice.

But… how to rig depends very much, what kind of usability you like to accomplish.

E.g., you can publish a Rig for each element, which allows to select only from a ready-made palette of colors.

And, you can Rig whole templates of ‚color schemes’.

For instance, case A, the user gets offered 6 colors for the Font, 2 colors for the outline, 4 colors for the background of a Lower3rd.

… or: case B, you bundle all those setting in a ‚template rig‘, which instantly allows only 5 pre-defined combos of colors for the font, its outline and the background ….

mostly done in After Effects, some tuts for Motion available.-
basically hand-animated, setting keyframes, moving masks et al, no automatisms … painstaking process, but nice to watch.

I'm with Ben: that isn't that much of material.
(back when I did my weekly football reports, 6 cams in use, 90min each, one season was ~1.2TB of material… handled with a MacMini)

There's one practical reason why to keep it all in one Lib: to make ALL material searchable, e.g. when you keyword material for a 'best of the year'/highlights reel. And: creating backups is more handy with a single Lib. Organize weekly material in Events; create one Event for 'standards'.-

Read the manual about 'keeping clips in place' on import = use one ext HDD for mass-storage/the 'raws', and keep the Library on another, 'clean' drive.

Create keywords/smartlists from the editors perspective = what are the criteria to search (and find ;) ) in edit? What criteria are 'automatic' (e.g. day of recording) = don't need to be keyworded? Do you need tech-specs (slowmos)? Read the manual about 'batch renaming'…

The better you prep your structure, the easier and faster is editing. But: there's lil' general advice, depends very much on your projects individual needs…
