Phil G. Giriodi created a new topic ' iMac & FCP-X window on right side of Mac' in the forum. 11 months ago

When editing with FCP-X using my iMac and the track pad I cannot keep that window on the far right (stock market, etc) from entering the frame when I attempt to push the timeline to the left. I cannot find a 'defeat' solution to keep this from happening. It is most annoying. is there a method to defeat this?

Thanks for our input.

I have been given a title to super over a scene. The title was created in PhotoShop with a black background. I placed the title over the proper scene, added keying but I am unable to get the color wheel to a full black in order to eliminate the black BG in the tile. I have checked all of the manuals and also searched the Internet but to no avail.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Phil G. Giriodi created a new topic ' Backup of library HD' in the forum. 1 year ago

I made a clone of my library HD as suggested by forum members using Carbon Copy Cloner. Now I am hesitant to use Time Machine on my iMac for fear of backing up to the wrong HD. I normally use Time Machine to back up my computer's main HD.

There is no indication as there is on CCC as to which HD is to be copied to which HD. I have 4 projects in various stages of completion and can't afford to lose them.

Is it possible for Time Machine to backup from one external HD to another external HD?

Again thank you for your response and guidance.

Phil G. Giriodi created a new topic ' Hard drive backup' in the forum. 1 year ago

I am presently running FCP-X with a 3TB external HD for library and backups. Eventually all HD's will fail. Therefore, if I purchase another 3TB HD and transfer all files from one HD to the other will the second HD act as though it were the original HD?

Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

I am attempting to add a number of small frames within the 1920x1080 frame without having to use the pixel x an y method.

I am unable to locate a method for clicking on the frame and moving it by using my mouse or trackball.

Is this possible?

Phil G. Giriodi created a new topic ' Uploading timeline to YouTube' in the forum. 2 years ago

I just completed a pro bono video for the Homeless and attempted to upload this 5:20 short video to YouTube. I addressed all of the requested parameters including signing in to YouTube and hit return. Nothing seems to be happening, no upload indication from FCP.

I have referred to two manuals and by all indications I have done everything correctly but apparently not.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Back a couple of years ago I authored many DVDs using DVD Studio Pro, however, that is not longer possible with all of the upgrades on our respective iMacs.

Is there a DVD authoring software that compares to DVD Studio Pro and if so where can this software be purchased?

Thank you in advance for any an all responses.

Thank you for your detailed reply to both of my questions. I will indeed search the web for the latest FCP-X manual. I also was not aware that there was another upgrade to FCP-X, this being 10.4.I will upgrade as well.

This forum is indeed the best and I greatly appreciate the thoughtful responses that I have received now as well as in the past.

All the best.
