I'm being tasked with uploading a video to an aggregator. They want ProRes 422HQ, and stereo and surround as separate audio streams (each 16-bit 48Khz LPCM, naturally). Is it possible to export a file like this via Compressor? Or take the silent video file, two WAV audio streams and combine them into one file somehow? The site does not give any tips on how to achieve this. They accept MOV, MKV, MPG, and OGG containers. No MXF, weirdly. There is only one upload conduit for the video and no other upload areas for individual audio files, etc.

Though I have no idea how to get the audio from 24-bit to 16-bit as they say they need. I don't think FCP can export 16-bit audio. Compressor is unable to keep the multitrack structure of the Quicktime.

I needed a surround file for a DCP.I ended up exporting the audio to a .wavI then imported the file into Logic and used the Waves Plugin to convert my stereo to a Surround 5.1.
Files were 48 Khz. I wonder why the 44,1 Khz ?Reimported the file into FC and then exported with surround.Worked fine.

I think Logic defaults to 44.1Khz because it figures you're making a CD to sell at Sam Goody. Maybe 44.1Khz is still a standard in the music industry today? Not sure why if that's the case. I do know that Logic is HEAVILY geared towards music and not so much video.

You can also put a stereo track into a surround track in Final Cut Pro, but you'll get 24-bit audio. The good news is that's DCP spec.

You are right about Logic 44,1 Khz by default.
I simply change the setting to 48Khz.
