We just got 10.4.9 so I would not expect 10.5 until a) 10.4.10 was released to fix all the bugs of the latest release, or b) after the 1st of the year. Why be so anxious about 10.5?
Keynotes about iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPads never have anything to do with FCPX, so I don't get how that correlates. Keynotes almost never announce new FCPX versions.
Yeah, latest macOS, latest app versions, and I just make a boat-load of money doing actual work, rather than sitting on my hands waiting for a new version that won't make much difference to my daily work life. Not frustrated at all.
Just what would a 10.5 do for you that you need it to be released immediately if not sooner?
I use all sorts of FCPX iterations across multiple OS versions and it hasn't cramped my productivity. If your stuff is dry now waiting for FCPX11 might be the ticket to bring your stuff to life.
I'm using a computer from late 2013 that's shaped like a trash can clinging to an OS that is not the latest and I am still making doing fine. Granted I do want new hardware and all that but it's gonna take me a while to find a workaround to not using my 32-bit apps as there are no 64-bit equivalents AT ALL. I'll probably have to keep my current computer as is to author a Blu-ray. As for the transition, that's Apple's problem and it's in their best interest to make sure it goes smoothly.
they had some functions to implement, ready to go... they made 10.4.9
and yes ! let's work with what we have, but let's not forget all the mandatory still missing... (would Apple be serious about that pro video app we are still longing for...)
- MANDATORY: Motion roundtrip back !
- MANDATORY: AAF export from the app ( taking in account audio speed variations and alternate framerates)
- MANDATORY: a real consolidate (a la AVID) like Worx4 X but ... working ! (Sync Clips ... Multicam) and/or a "flaten Multicam")
