In the effects list, there are three different effects stacked:
1. Color Wheels
2. Color Curves
3. Hue/Saturation Curves
Will I have to apply all three at once in my own "AXELS COLOR" effects preset, making this the alt+E standard effect? Must be so. Then I can as well add "Custom LUT" (if needed) and "HDR Tools".
Very curious how the HDR tools work. Compared to Resolves conditions and presets there seems to be very little to do. Alexis van Hurkman wrote a long blog article
, actually an essay, on HDR with Resolve and brought me to the personal conclusion, well, this even costs a fortune just to monitor, and nobody is sure yet how it looks on the receiving end, given that there are three main standards and as many smart solutions as there are TV sets. It's High Confusion rather than High Dynamic.
But you also sense the enthusiasm for the new technique. I've only seen TV sets right now with demo content, but I am sold already.
Whatever it takes?
No. But if Apple adapts it, I'm quite confident that it's getting easier.
