Just updated to High Sierra and AJA T-Tap stopped working. Current driver (13.0.0, June 2016). Turn on A/V output and video freezes and FCP locks up, requiring a force quit. I can only get it back by launching with deleting preferences to turn A/V back off.
So about slowdown. Very slow work, no smooth playback. what I did? 1. switched off automatic video card switch. 2. downloaded and reinstalled Nvidia CUDA driver, now ver.9.0.214. (update not helped me) 3. switched off Background render in the FCPX.
now I have about 20 minutes for smooth work then need to reboot. after reboot 20 min again.

No app, it nests itself into the sysPrefs, to redirect audio (as commercial Loopback does) - so, I wouldn't be surprised when it does NOT work… Rarely using it, but handy…
Soundflower is great, especially when combined into multi-output devices. I have used it for years.
I have it installed in High Sierra.
I just did a very small test.
It appears to be working as fine as ever.
I have a fresh install of High Sierra 10.13.1 and FCPX 10.3.4 and every time I load FCPX it looses all my settings like defaults, last library used, window placements and keyboard commands and shows me the what's new splash screen. has anyone else had this problem? is there a way to solve it?
Yeah, I'm the only user on the mac and logged in as admin. it's a 2013 Mac Pro 6 core 3.5ghz with 32gb of ram and a 1tb ssd. all my video files are stored externally on a thunderbolt 2 G-Raid studio 8tb drive.
is there a way to reset permissions on High Sierra as disk utility doesn't give that as an option anymore.
Disk Utility didn't do permissions, that is done in the Get Info window for a drive (right-click, Get Info).
I know two other HS systems with this issue. I think it is HS compatibility, FCPX 10.4 should fix these bugs.
I have found High Sierra slow, it has plenty of errors, for example the youtube webpage when used under Safari Technology Preview 44, latest version, the left margin encroaches over the text and thumbnails.
The worst is the wifi keeps dropping if the screensaver is used, and even though all napping features are disabled, it does not stop the wifi on the mac from switching off..This does not happen on Sierra...
Overall High Sierra is a tad slower than any previous version of mac os I have used on this laptop, I have 2 partitions, Sierra and High Sierra, and Sierra is much "faster" and tends to not beachball as often as High Sierra..
welcoming myself to the forum! FCPX 10.3.4, here on HS 10.13.2 beta (i run all the public betas), and, except for a few crashes when using sliceX, final cut's been running great, and am pushing my macbook pro hard.
great to find this place! am pretty-new to FCP, currently editing a music video, going well, but... have questions (and will get to them soon).
meanwhile, just sharing my experience with high sierra...
another fix for Slowdown macbook pro 15 with Nvidia 750m on High Sierra:
1. Turn off Spotlight on system and work disk. (it can fix slowdown, a think because APFS has a problem)
2. Install Nvidia WEB driver and CUDA driver. for High Sierra 10.13.1 (build 17B1003) Nvidia driver 3126.96.36.199.20.109 (work). Then in the settings switch to NVidia driver.
I have encountered issues formatting several external drives with disk utility in 10.13.1 and 10.13.2. Occurred with drives preformatted as FAT32 or NTFS that I intended to reformat in ExFAT or mac OS journaled. After few seconds of trying to reformat disk utility shows a message with something like this: "Process could not be completed as device has not enough memory". Issue occurred both on my iMac and MacBook Pro running on 10.13.1 (and now 10.13.2). But I managed to reformat all drives that had issues on another MacBook Pro running 10.12.x...
Anyone encountered a similar issue? And maybe found a solution?
