The diving part, where the Lego people is diving. Is it just masking out? It sure doesn't look like it. I have seen some Lego stop motion where masking is applied, and it's bad. This one looks really good. Can it be anything else than masking out?

Looks like real liquid, probably something very thick, and probably rotoscoping a lot of wires out. I don't see any need for masking.

I'm mixing masking and rotoscoping. So instead of rotoscoping the Lego man jumping, he has rotoscoped out the wires holding the Lego man jumping?

Days of 'brick motion' = painful slow stop-motion trickery are long gone. These movies, esp. in excellence like the linked one, are made with 3D-animation-apps. All modern ones, even the free BLENDER do offer 'fluids' in their 'materials' …

You could model the Land Of Legos in a 3-D Animation program and then animate the scene but I think Neguah is trying to make use of stop motion animation but who knows for sure?
