Digieffects have announced that their plugin 'Damage' is now available for Final Cut Pro X. So if you want to degrade that lovely pin sharp footage into old film, compressed video with artifacts or TV interference for example, this $99 plugin fits the billing.
It's always hard to name software products to give them individuality but maintain some common link across the range. Digieffects have named three of their plugins beginning with a D, which is where the confusion starts!
We reported a few months back that Delerium had already been upgraded to support FCPX, so we will concentrate on Damage. We hope we've got this right!
The problem with shooting footage these days with large sensors is the fact that it can look too good in certain situations. What if you are trying to emulate a breaking up satellite feed or want to make footage look like it was shot on black and white film in the 1920's? Damage is a set of plugins from Digieffects that 'artistically degrade' your footage. We rather like their description:

We couldn't find a damage demo video on their website, but there are plenty of thumbnails of effects, tutorials and presets for you to peruse. The plugin is available at $99.00 for new customers; $79.00 for users migrating from v1.0; and is a free upgrade for v2.0 customers. There is also a free trial so you can give the plugin a whirl without getting your wallet out. The plugin also supports Motion, FCP6 to 7 After Effects and Premiere PRo on the Mac.
