Helping to fund the Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group's new projector

lacpug new projector

We feature a lot of Michael Horton's videos from the LACPUG on here. So we think it is well worth a post helping them to fund their new projector. Everyone will benefit.

Michael has been running the LACPUG right from the beginning when it was the Final Cut Pro User Group. You have to admire the effort and dedication he puts in organising the monthly meet-ups. We have featured the videos from guest speakers at the meetings in Los Angeles many, many times and we hope to continue in the future.

Michael and Dean Cleary are raising money for the financing of a new projector that will not only benefit the attendees in LA, but also help YouTube viewers of the sessions. This is because the output of the projector can be recorded, no more blurry 'off-screen' recordings! Michael has also done an amazing deal of getting a $135,000 projector for just $5,000!

To get to their total, the LACPUG has teamed up with DVcreators to offer a promotion of their FilmStyles plugins for FCPX. The purchaser gets 25% off, but more importantly 50% goes to the funding of the projector.

Ryan Hunter and Josh Melicker recently appeared at the LACPUG to talk about FilmStyles. As you can see the screen recording would look a lot better fed from the projector! (Not too sure about the sepia going on there.)

Also posted from Michael at the recent LACPUG is a demonstration of iZotope RX4, the audio repair tool. Pretty awesome stuff, it has saved our bacon in FCPX a few times!
