A few things that will be super handy, my personal favorites highlighted. Quoted directly from the release notes:

Issues addressed in Final Cut Pro X 10.4:

- Support for importing and exporting WAV files greater than 4GB as RF64 when using macOS High Sierra 10.13

- Fixes a stability issue that could occur when using Final Cut Pro on macOS High Sierra with a laptop in closed-display mode and attached to an external monitor
Fixes an issue in which text in the Browser in List mode could occasionally disappear

- Enabling transform, crop, or distort no longer closes Video Scopes

- Third-party asset management systems can now send low-resolution media to Final Cut Pro through XML import and later replace those low resolution files with full resolution files through another XML import

- Glue Tools Phantom Cine Toolkit works correctly with
Phantom high speed camera “Cine” files when editing in Final Cut Pro

- Support for new YouTube authentication protocols

- Contextual menu option to create a new project from a selection of one or more clips in the Browser

- Ability to use key commands in full screen mode when the
Viewer is on a second display

- Alert dialog appears when sharing a file if playback mode is set to proxy

- Square pixel photos at 960 x 720 and 1440 x 1080 resolutions no longer appear distorted

- The Toggle Fade In and Toggle Fade Out commands now appear under the Adjust Volume menu

- Press Ctrl-Tab to cycle through tabs in the Inspector when the Inspector is selected

These are great. At first it appear for me any way. that the clamshell issue was resolved. But then it came back.

Didn't find such a contextual menu option. And what exactly would be the purpose? I mean something that's different from the way compounds work now.

Also needs an explanation. Sounds like a bugfix rather than a feature. What I would consider a real new feature was if I could review my freshly imported clips in full screen mode. For instance on a MacBook, so that I could better quality-check them abroad. Works, you say? Even has continuous playback, what else do you need?

Yes, spacebar and JKL work. Would be nice if i,o and f would have an effect too. Because I don't need to see the browser for that.

If there ever was a keyboard-user it's me. But to cycle through video info >color info >audio info and, er info-info I use the mouse. I'm sure I miss the point here. I realized I often need to jump between video info (=effects tab) and color info. This is not elegant. Typing is no advantage over clicking if you can't do it without looking, and the whole arrangement of the elements looks a bit messy to me. Since you highlighted the feature, you might think it's really a good thing. You are very experienced, so please explain.

That's all quoted from the FCPX 10.4 release notes.

That shows the contextual menu. Select one or more clips in the Browser, right-click (contextual menu) and you now have a new "Create Project" option that creates a new Project containing those clips. That will be super time saving for me.

Yes, some are bug fixes I guess, but I didn't write the document, Apple did.

I'm actually using the Control-Tab quite a bit now and finding it, not ground breaking, but a small thing that helps out.

Need full screen review of clips in the Browser?
"Choose View > Playback > Play Full Screen (or press Shift-Command-F).
Click the Play Full Screen button below the lower-right corner of the viewer."

Good. I'm glad the days of automatically assuming something at those resolutions is anamorphic is over. Perhaps a checkbox to indicate anamorphic-ness like FCP7 would be beneficial in case there is a need for a quick fix.

Here's another little gift that went unnoticed, the "ProApps" folder in the Finder window's sidebar. Super handy to have! Did that install with the HS upgrade, or the Pro Video Formats 2.0.6 update?

Neither, because I don't have that. And if I did I'm not sure how it would benefit me. My guess is it has more to do with HS.

This is not a smart folder I created. I'm not sure how I'd even do that. But it is there. And that is all of the locations you store your custom setups in that can be shared with other systems. So how did I get that?

And no, I was not a beta tester this round.

Upon further investigation, a smart folder, when you right-click, will give a "Show Criteria" option. This one does not. So I clicked the "Show Enclosing Folder" option. It is an actual folder inside the Library > Application Support folder. I don't do many customized destinations or effects or anything, so how the heck did it get into my sidebar?

Booted my rMBP from my pre-HS upgrade backup and it wasn't there before my HS upgrade, either.

I seem to have a mystery on my hands.

"yes its use is for 360 videos..."

Work a few reality TV shows and you'll find something like this mandatory. I actually made an effect that does this for a reality TV show I had to edit that required TONS of leveling hand-held shots. May be useful for 360, but a lot of the rest of us will get a ton of use out of it also.

Nobody hardly ever reads releases notes. And these little things are not going to blow anyone away like color tools.

360? Eh, minority of the market will do that...

excellent find, Ben (asI don't read release notes...)
Now, if Apple would have added a 'make it straight' feature, which auto-zooms on rotation...
hey, I did:

First thing I do with any software release, read the full release notes. HA! The Show Horizon overlay isn't in the release notes, I just saw it digging through menus for new stuff that's unpublished. There's always a couple of things they add that don't get mention anywhere. Like Easter Eggs, or rather, Christmas Easter Eggs. Christmas Eggs. Something like that...

Nice template, BTW.

Position, Rotation and Scale for titles is new. But you cannot animate them...
