Dual viewer FCPX

If there was one feature that caused the most moaning due to its absence at the launch of FCPX, it had to be dual viewers. The 10.0.6 update has brought the familiar two up layout back and the usual team of Mark & Steve take a look.

Almost every other NLE on the market uses a source and timeline viewer layout. This originates from tape editing when you had one screen per machine and you didn't want to go E to E every time you wanted to spin through the camera originals.

Nearly everybody had commented on the lack of a source viewer in FCPX 10.0.0, so Apple listened and added the Event Viewer in 10.0.6.

In this week's MacBreak Studio episode, Mark Spencer and Steve Martin take us on a tour around the Event Viewer to show how useful it can be when colour correcting.

If you would like to know more from the guys, the two tutorials they mention on the video can be found on the Ripple Training website.

If you want to start from scratch and prefer learning from hard copy, their two books on FCPX and Motion are still in print and available from Amazon.
