So did you ever think you could organise your footage for FCPX without using folders, before importing ? You can and here's how... (Plus an extra tip!)
In this new episode of MacBreak Studio, Steve Martin shows Mark Spencer how the use of Finder Tags to tag footage can help when media gets imported into FCPX. This is again another great example of how the NLE utilises OS X features.
One question that wasn't answered, would it be possible to import media from a tag from multiple folders? We had a quick message session with Mark and we did indeed prove that it is possible. Just select all the clips enclosed in the custom Tag in the finder and drag them to FCPX. You will then have all the media from different folders under a collection named by the Tag. Super cool and super useful!
Some great knowledge from the guys and we thank them them again for sharing. To get more information on how Tags work in Mavericks, take a look at this handy Apple Knowledgebase article. Well worth a read. iCloud, now there's an idea...
If you would like to know more about FCPX, take a look at their Media Managing tutorial. It is priced at $29.99, packed full of 10.1.2 new features and is available from the Ripple Training website.
