***Winners announced***

Hot off the press is longtime FCP guru Rick Young's The Focal Easy Guide to Final Cut Pro X. Should you need to brush up on your FCPX skills or just need a last minute stocking filler for Christmas, this graphic heavy publication might fit the bill. We have three to giveaway too.

Rick Young has been a familiar face at post production exhibitions and demos around the world. Not only does he film and produce many good interviews with FCP & camera folk, he's also a writer. Rick was the author of one of the first FCP books published, The Focal Easy Guide to Final Cut Pro and he's just published the FCPX version via Focal Press as well.

The new book 'The Focal Easy Guide to Final Cut Pro X' is priced at $29.95 and consists of over 200 pages of information. What we like is the fact that screen grabs and highlighted graphics feature heavily in the publication. Much easier to see the GUI rather than have it described in words.

This book starts right from the beginning, so it would make a good purchase if you haven't got further than just opening up the program and looking at the interface.

One big problem and an elegant solution. We like learning from books, but keeping a publication current with Apple's rapid update release is almost impossible. Rick has solved this problem by publishing a 10.0.6 and 10.0.7 update online as a PDF. Worth a read anyway as it graphically highlights the differences between the versions.

Rick's publisher has very kindly given us three copies to giveaway to lucky readers and we thought we would try a slightly different approach to running the 'competition' this time.

All you have to do to have a chance to win a copy of Rick's book is to post a Facebook comment below. Tell us how much you would like the book and the best comments will win. They don't have to be serious either :) The competition is open until 0900 GMT on Wednesday morning, so not much time to get your post in. Good luck!

Ok here are the winners:

Brett Stanton because you were the first and you got the word 'dunny' into your post.

Gonzalo Villar as it looks like you are our furthest away reader.

And Mike Scrabonia as you got the most likes by saying women love men who use Final Cut Pro X.

Thank you to everybody who entered, the competition is now closed. Please can the lucky winners send their postal addresses to us via the email on the contact page. We cannot guarantee the books will be in your hands by Christmas though!
