Markers are one of the handiest tools you'll find in an NLE. The way markers work has changed in FCPX from FCP7 and in this new MacBreak Studio episode we find out how to use them when editing to music.
Some people like to cut to markers on the timeline, some don't and we fall into the latter category. Why? because it falsely locks you into a rhythm and many editors spend too much time looking at the timeline and not at the pictures!
They do have their uses though and if you have to match shots exactly to music, then they provide a way to plan what can go where without having to drop in place holders. Steve Martin shows Mark Spencer exactly that in this new episode of MacBreak Studio.
Many thanks again to Steve and Mark for the episode, don't forget to check out their excellent training books for FCPX and Motion.
