Two new plugins from the FxFactory stable. Xflare from SugarFX adds adjustable flares to footage and the sequel to Ripple Tools is out.
If your contre-jour shots seem a bit laking in punch, Xflare from SugarFx might be able to add those in-demand lens flares. (Actually we think contra-jour is such a great name for a plugin pack that we might release one ourselves!)
Xflare is a $49 pack of more than 30 lens flares for use exclusively in Final Cut Pro X. On-screen controls give the user access to the origin and direction of flare. In the inspector, you will find a range of adjustable controls to fine tune a look or select from one of the built-in presets. Users can also add their own flares into custom drop zones.
Xflare is distributed as part of the FxFactory plugin management system, a watermarked free trial is available
A follow up to Ripple Tools is Ripple Tools II, a set of 12 plugins that range from adding a glow, a vignette, a tilt shift effect or even a range of paths for text. The price for the set is $39 but this has been reduced down to $29 if you buy before Monday may the 29th.
The set of plugins is again distributed via the FxFactory plugin management system a free watermarked trial is available.
