FollowZoom - free re-frame effect 09 Apr 2017 10:55 #87048

// dl, unzip, and drag into ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects //

First of all: yes, FollowZoom is yet another Ken Burns clone.
With a less fancy GUI.

So, what is it good for?

Imho, its main benefits are:
• fast reframing: on screen, drag to zoom (100-500%) and to position
• key-framing several positions

In the video, you see how it works…

Nothing fancy, but very helpful, imho, for reframing, because all settings are done ‘interactively’ on-screen.

Added a version 2:
has a different OSC, which allows additionally to rotate the frame - … no time for a new tutorial yet… just try ;)

Dragging the Circle zooms, moving the dot positions and turning the lil' handle rotates the frame.
All parameters avail in the Inspector, for key-framing …

where is your donate button ? ;)

and to easily adjust keyframes just open the Videoanimation of the clip or adjustment layer (prefer that to see where effects have been applied)

maybe to include a selection element for linear, smooth scaling as an idea for version II

that is a good one!
considering a diff. OSC to allow rotation too …
but, not meant as Swiss Knife, meant as simple reframer (therefor the limitation not going <100%)

that's an even better one :)
(imagine, I would have a gotten a $ per download… <sigh> )

hmm yes keep it simple and easy to use. Rotation ?? hmm well then the soccer field wouldn't be horizontal anymore ;)) well I use a Gimbal ;-)
regarding donate.
check how www.youtube.com/channel/UC_tusQ99Bno--GHjhb1Aa6g is doing it. I guess people would honor your work/advise... need to check as well Multicam editing never did that before . Creating a Multicam clip is easy but looking for 5min into it the problem is with editing for newbies. ;))

… haven't heard of sellfy.com until now - THANKS for sharing! Highly interesting - ok, another 'inbetween broker', but a nice shop-front-end....
Trouble with 'goin' commercial' is liability etc etc etc …

well, very generally spoken: a MC is a clip as any other.
Only difference is: 'behind' it, there are other Angles (cough Tracks cough ) well hidden. Clicking 1,2,3 makes them visible.
The fun begins, when you 'multiply' them, e.g. for pic-in-pic effects, or for faking/virtual camse etc etc etc.

nope.
haven't found a way to publish or rig those ease-effects to the Inspector.

You have to use the keyframe-editor …

Mahlzeit,

Any idea where within FCPX...
In that setting I don't see any option besides deletion.
Bildschirmfoto2017-04-27um08.57.jpg

checked as well support.apple.com/kb/PH12628?locale=de_DE&viewlocale=de_DE and youtube.

FYI. I guess Alex4D did that somehow... in his template:
