// after dl & unzip, drag folder into ~Movies/Motion templates/Effects //

NOTE: Feedback works for green screen material only.

fb1.jpg

It creates this (in)famous effect of Visual Feedback - in the glorious analogue days produced by pointing the camera to a display showing the cams live pic.

You’ll notice an on-screen-controller, to set the direction of the feedback.

In the Inspector are three controls:
• You can adjust the end opacity.
• The end zoom.
• And the amount of copies are shown.

Unfortunately, I can not publish the color-key-setting from Motion - ‚publish‘ is greyed out.
If somebody has a suggestion/solution… I’ll publish a vers2 of this plugin.

Feel free to modify to your needs, publish your versions here!

Enjoy movie-making!

Fun effect Karsten. I haven't seen that in years!

Wonderful!

Well, almost. Wouldn't it be possible to make it work with a black background?
Thanks anyway :)

instead using a green screen/colour key, a luma-key?
Yep, you could replace that in Motion… but luma-keys are never as good as colour-keys, in my example, the guitar player would get partly transparent…

attached a quick'n dirty variation of my plugin. Again:
Motion does not allow to publish the GUI of the keyer, therefor I published a few, hopefully useful parameters

Thanks. It doesn't work though: info tells me the effect is missing. Installed it at the same location as the original Feedback effect, haven't changed the name or anything. Showing the dreaded red screen with yellow triangle exclamation mark. Eeks!

I have … sorry, my fault:
Updated since then to Motion 5_3 - which works only with corresponding updated FCPX 10_3

plugins from newer versions of M don't work with older versions of FC .... sorry, no old Motion at hand :(

Thanks a lot for you ultra-quick replies and fixes.
Unfortunately I haven't upgraded FCPX to latest version yet (mid-project, I'll go 10.3 in December).
The hacked version doesn't work either. I guess I'll manually put a couple of copied layers on top of each other.

Thanks again though - big appreciation!

Welcome dabran to fcp.co :)

This would demand a very different concept to construct such a plugin, esp. not using a Replicator ;)
Quick shot from the hip: the Particle Behavior allows to 'Shift' the playback start…
Actually busy with other things… maybe in the near future I can tinker with such a feature…
