This very simple title effect helps apply the same effects and transformations to many clips on the timeline at once.

As well as being able to blur and change the scale of a whole series of clips in a timeline, it also helps when applying the same settings to multiple clips doesn't produce the effect you want.

In the case of transform effects, for content that isn't full-frame, the same settings applied to different clips produce different results.

Here is a clip with a polygon and a title connected:

If you rotate and scale each layer, the rotation and scale are applied to different centre points.

The result is on the left. If you use an adjustment layer with rotation and scale applied, you get the result on the right.

Wow this is superb. If you could make a plug-in that did the same with clips applied to a particular role (or some other form of contiguous grouping) I would pay big money (Well, maybe medium money!)

Exciting FCP-X developments!

That's what Compound Clips are for.

Problem with compound clips is that they put you effectively in Picture Lock, which is far less flexible. Feel like I've said this 500x before.....

CC's do not "lock" anything. It's how all NLE's work at this point. It is a very nice "contiguous grouping" solution as was requested. It's what we have to work with.

Could someone please post a video clip of this effect in action? I can't quite understand what it does from the still shots.

thank you
