Hey guys and gals, I've risked it and upgraded to the most latest of everything, including a new MacBook Pro (maxed out). Now that I've got my disclaimer of risk out there, am I missing something...
I copied and pasted all my Movies/Motion Templates (Effects/Generators/Titles/Transitions) Folder to my new MacBookPro and my transitions aren't there. I've got loads of stuff from Pixelfilm, motionVFX, ripple, crumple pop and custom stuff...etc..

...what am I missing?

I'll reply to myself as I just found the answer from Tom Wolsky in another thread. Thanks Tom I shot up your positive Karma...

So as Tom says, add .localized to all the aforementioned folder names. i.e. Motion Templates.localized , Effects.localized , Titles.localized ....

AWESOME !!!!

I'm glad you found a solution, but I'm just curious what adding .localized does. And why this would need to be done.

The .localized extension is what informs FCPX that the content inside should appear in FCPX's respective browser (i.e. Titles, Generators, etc.) within the application. These are created automatically when you install FCPX and you probably don't notice them unless you click on a folder within the Users/Movie folder and choose "Get Info". When you move and copy these folders they do not retain the .localized extension and copy over as any standard folder would, thus losing the information link to FCPX. In the Get Info panel of the finder you can add the extension directly to regain the folder functionality.

Thanks!!! Always love this forum because there is a great balance of inquisition, knowledge, and irony.... ;)

(Not that there was nay here in this specific thread, rather its been just what the dr ordered, but in other threads there are members that offer the occasional irony....hahaha.)

THANKS GUYS HAVE A GREAT ONE>>>
