Are there any best practices for color grading across discontiguous clips? Since FCPX doesn't have nodes, what's the easiest way to make a color grade tweak on one clip and have it update across all other shots of the same camera angle? Note that I'm talking about keeping it entirely in FCPX, not round-tripping to Resolve.

Using a Title as a Look/Grade adjustment layer is great for applying to ALL the clips, but not so much for applying to noncontiguous clips.

Do people do something like make a Compound clip of each camera angle and then make the color adjustment inside the Compound, thereby applying it across all cuts? I wish I had thought of that about six hours ago!

Is there a way to apply a color grade to a Role? So any clip that is assigned a certain role gets updated when the color is updated.

I've used Color FInale's grouping feature, which works fairly well on one computer, but the settings do not carry over to another computer.

I feel like I'm missing a much simpler way to adjust color across discontiguous clips.

My first suggestion would be to use Chromatic or Cinema Grade, both have this function built-in.

All I can think of is once your tweaked an existing grade, to use Remove Attributes to remove the color effect from all the other clips, then copy/past-attributes to give them the newly tweaked grade.

But if you do this often, I'd get Chromatic or Cinema Grade.
