Sure. But for long sequences and character by character animations it could be a bit of a chore. Each word or character can be key-framed on scale and position and fades or dissolves can be applied (as shown in a few of them). The titles can be stacked and positioned to provide the necessary alignment and timing for your project. FCPX can do all those things and some of the built-in title templates will offer some of that animation already. But there are a variety of plugins available that would make that whole process easier and faster.
It can be done more or less, but there are some limitations you should be aware of. There are some packages of plugins that will help that sort of animation (motionvfx and others have them), but you may or may not have exact control depending on what settings those plugins choose to surface for you.
If you do it all with built-in tools, FCPX has limitations with keyframes that aren't ideal. You can't control the easing of movement with bezier curves, for example. Either you get their baked-in easing, or you don't get any at all with certain controls. If you keyframe both scale and position, you'll get this weird curved movement because the easing doesn't match. Please fill out feedback for this, because many of us been harping on these keyframing limitations for years, but Apple hasn't fixed it!
