What Mac can't run ProRes files?

And to correct an earlier statement, yes, I've gone back over your posts, you've said Apple was incompetent before.

And as someone who grew up on boats, no, you can't just slap any old engine into any old boat. That can get very dangerous.

If you need a bigger gun, get a bigger gun. Don't demand your Daisy BB gun be able to fire .22 hollow points, it is simply not mechanically going to work.

Oh, you mean actually posting comments that are constructive, positive and help, rather than only criticize the same issues over and over? Yes, definitely.

Transcode codecs your Mac may have trouble playing back, that you need to work with full resolution.
Optimize codecs your Mac may have trouble playing back, at 1/4 resolution data (NOT 1/4 frame size).
Either were meant to be used on older Macs that have trouble with highly compressed codecs.
If you don't need to use these functions, then don't.

Done.

Hesitate to get involved in this, er, discussion - but this just popped up and maybe of some use:

Looks interesting...

What is wrong with a varied scale of proxy file within FCPX?
