Hello all, I moved my titles around to organize them in the /Motion Templates/Generators and /Motion Templates/Titles
folder.

After re-opening my projects, my titles show as not found. How can I tell FCPX how to find them again?
Or even just see what the folder name was so I can move it back.

Thank in advance.

Hi,

The folder structure for Motion Templates is very specific and the Motion Templates folder itself is special. Did you move or re-create that? Can you see any of your custom templates in FCPX? When you “tidied” the file structure what did you actually do?

Hi, I moved them in other folders and renamed some folders. I can see all of them in FCPX.

a) btmk there's no official way to relink titles, effects, generators, transitions (maybe some xml-script-wizardry??… ).FC is very rigid to find what where and how…

b) projects are saved as 'snapshots'… e.g. when you apply a custom-built title to some project and change it in Motion, the new version does NOT replace the previous version. Learned that when testing my plugins …

guess, you have to replace every one of them manually …

<cough> … no good idea to fumble the structure of FCPX itself in the midst of a project …

Karsten is right. The amount of time it would take to perform “XML Voodo” would probably be longer than changing the items out manually.

You could try restoring your Motion Templates folder from a system backup (if that hasn’t been overwritten by now) and opening a backup of your library from before the point that you ..er.. reorganised the Motion Templates folder. That should work with the obvious drawbacks...
