Optical flow has ceased to work since 10.3.4 08 May 2018 02:59 #95430

Hi there,

I am currently running High Sierra 11.1 with FCPX 10.4.2. Optical flow has ceased to work properly since 10.3.4. I am unable to get it to work even if I try the fix of going into the readers folder for optical flow and deleting them. I am on a mac book pro. Mid 2010 2.66 processor with 8 gig of ram and x2 500 SSD drives.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi Robbie, Welcome to the forums
FCPX 10.4.2 requires High Sierra 10.13.2 or later. Not sure how you have an 11.1 OS
Are you up to date on your OS?

Are you applying a speed change first? Optical Flow is for when you are slowing down the footage and is not available until you do a speed reduction.
It is just not available(greyed out) or not working?
Are you working on original media or proxy/optimized media? What format?

If possible, shoot in higher frame rates, this will produce better results.

A little more info and perhaps a screen shot will help in getting answers.
A step by step description of what you are doing maybe?

Hope this Helps, Greg
