OS 10.12.6
FCP 10.4
Recorded a two mic interview, with host on channel 1 and guest on channel 2. When imported into FCPX it appears that channel 1 audio is present on both channel 1 and 2.

In other words, the host audio is "on mic" and the guest audio is "off mic" and only audible from the hosts mic. After much head scratching and whatnot including loading the card back into the camera, playing the clip back and monitoring through earphones with the audio sounding correct, I took the P2 card into one of our News edit bays (Edius) and imported the clip and the host audio is on channel 1 and the guest audio is on channel 2.

Came back to FCPX, created a new library, loaded up card, and at the import screen, selected and played the clip and can only hear the host audio. Went ahead and reimported the clip into the new Library, created a new project, dropped the clip into the timeline . . . can only hear the host audio from channel 1.

When the clip is selected in the browser, the audio waveform on the channels in the audio inspector appears to only channel 1 audio, i.e. the levels on their respective channels do not vary when the host is silent and the guest speaks.

At this point, I've exported a file from Edius with the guest "on mic" audio and the host "on mic" audio and will drop it over the timeline . . . but I'm flummoxed as to how and why.

As one further test, I grabbed the camera and the two wireless mics, and recreated the scenario and the audio was correctly recorded on separate channels (host on 1, guest on 2) and behaved as expected in a new test library and project.

Any ideas? I'm stumped as to why this one clip on this one card only presents channel 1 audio across all channels recorded on the P2 card.

I'd need to see a screen shot of this audio clip in the FCPX Inspector.
