Hello, was thinking I should try the in camera proxy workflow on my C300 Mark II. Has anyone tried it. Would it just be a case of editing and then relinking to the hi-res media? Essentially the camera can shoot hi-res codecs to the CFast cards and proxy files to the SD card. I know I can transcode in X from the originals but this could essentially be quicker, plus it means I can choose the size of the proxies. Thanks.

You should test this. I don't believe it will work, but it depends entirely oil the exact specs of the original media and the proxy media. FCPX doesn't allow relinking to any random file; it requires the media matches the resolution, frame rate, and audio specs of the original.

Thanks Tom, I will but if that's the case, which I'm pretty sure now you say it it is then you're right, it won't work. 1-0 to Premiere, which you don't hear often.
