I’d like to restore my ‘Optimised’ and ‘Proxy’ media to a slimmed down Project Archive but don’t know how, or even if it’s possible.

A few days ago I archived an almost complete FCPX project to a ‘New Library’ on an external drive. To keep my storage under control, and because they could be recreated, I chose not to include my Optimised Media and Proxy Media with the Archive. Everything seemed to go fine and, as far as I can remember, I shut down FCPX.

Anyway, next day I reopened FCPX and began to finish and fine tune my original project. When I had done most of the work I discovered that I had been working on the slimmed down archived project, which did not include my Optimised or Proxy media files. I’m not too familiar with FCPX but it seems that it made the archived project the one on the timeline the next time I started up. The source files were 4K and I was working in a 1080p timeline. Although FCPX was working with the original media, and was sluggish at times, I decided to complete the edit with that archived project.

I think I will almost certainly be doing some more work on this edit, including changing some shots and doing colour correction. So I’d like to be able to open this project and have it include the optimised and proxy versions of my original media. Is this possible, and, if so, what’s the best way to do it?

I’m running FCPX 10.2 on OS X Yosemite.
